Welcome to Upper Yadkin County Habitat for Humanity!
Upper Yadkin Valley Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, dedicated to eliminating poverty housing from the face of the earth by building and renovating decent, affordable housing. Furthermore, all our words and actions are for the ultimate purpose of putting shelter on the hearts and minds of people in such a powerful way that poverty housing and homelessness become socially, politically and religiously unacceptable in our nations and world.
We are building, growing, and celebrating twenty-three years of working to eliminate poverty housing in the Yadkin Valley of northwest North Carolina. As our Mission Statement says, " Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope." (Habitat for Humanity Mission Statement) Since 1976, Habitat has served more than 500,000 families by welcoming people of all races, religions and nationalities to construct, rehabilitate or preserve homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. We welcome you to join us.
Upper Yadkin Valley Habitat for Humanity builds and renovates houses in the towns of Jonesville, Boonville, East Bend, and Yadkinville and in surrounding areas in Yadkin County; and in southern Surry County in Elkin, and the surrounding areas of Thurmond, State Road, and Ronda.
